11/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - Eurojust and Europol last week signed a memorandum of understanding, with the objective of creating a secure line of communication for information to be transmitted between the two institutions. “This new instrument symbolises the increased cooperation between Europol and Eurojust in the fight against serious cross-border crimes”, said the commissioner for security, Franco Frattini, in a press release. Amongst other things, this tool will allow Eurojust to obtain information more easily, to enjoy better cooperation thanks to the analytical working documents held by Europol, and to help develop the project relating to joint investigation teams.
