04/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has granted clearance to the acquisition of Walki Wisa by a subsidiary of the Finnish group CapMan, a private equity fund group. Walki Wisa is a manufacturer of wrappings and composite materials for industrial applications (“Barrier Board”) and has business interests in Finland, Germany and the United Kingdom. The Commission gave the green light to the acquisition of sole control of the education division of Wolters Kluwer N.V. of the Netherlands (active in the publication and marketing of educational material) by Bridgepoint Capital Group Ltd of the UK (a private equity company). The two operations were examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (cd)
