Commission gives conditional approval to Finland's national CO2 emissions allocation plan 2008-2012

Brussels, 04/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 4 June, the European Commission completed its assessment of Finland's national plan for allocating (NAP) carbon dioxide (CO2) emission allowances for the 2008-2012 trading period. NAPs determine each member state's “cap”, or limit, on the total amount of CO2 that installations covered by the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) can emit, and specify how many CO2 emission allowances each plant will receive.
