CER and EIM call for reliable public funding as only way to compete with road transport

Brussels, 22/05/2007 (Agence Europe) - Reliable and transparent public funding for managing the rail sector is essential if the quality of rail freight services and rail passenger services is to be improved, states CER (Community of European Railways and infrastructure companies) and EIM (European Rail Infrastructure Managers) in a joint press release issued on Monday 12 May to report on the third European summit organised by the two associations in Vienna on 16 May.
