Luxembourg, 22/05/2007 (Agence Europe) - According to the first estimate for the month of March 2007 published by Eurostat on 22 May, the eurozone recorded a trade surplus of €7.4 billion (bn) with the rest of the world, compared with a €0.6 bn surplus in March 2006. The February 2007 balance was -0.3 bn, compared with -3.4 bn in February 2006. In March 2007, seasonally adjusted exports rose by 1.2%, compared with February 2007, while imports fell by 2.6%. The first estimate for March 2007 extra-EU27 trade was a deficit of €11.1 bn, compared with -13.5 bn in March 2006. In February 2007, the balance was -17.6 bn, compared with -16.2 bn in February 2006. In March 2007, seasonally adjusted exports rose by 1.1%, compared with February 2007, while imports fell by 2.2%.
