15/05/2007 (Agence Europe) - The Court of Justice has followed the conclusions of the advocate general and rejected the action initiated by SGL Carbon AG (“SGL”, Germany) aimed at obtaining a greater reduction in its fine than that already granted by the Court of First Instance (from €27.75 million to €18.45 million - see EUROPE 9360). Closure of the case (C-328/05) on 10 May exhausts all appeal possibilities for SGL, which was found guilty of taking part in an agreement between 1993 and 1998 on the market for speciality graphite, which is used for making industrial instruments for the electronic and airspace industries (see EUROPE 8365).
