Brussels, 15/05/2007 (Agence Europe) - As Polish Foreign minister Ana Fotyga told her counterparts at the Council meeting on Monday, ending the Russian ban on Poland's agricultural products and acknowledging the importance of energy security are two equally important matters for Warsaw to lift its veto on opening negotiations on a new cooperation agreement with Moscow (see EUROPE 9426). “I am not happy with the way the German presidency has prepared the Samara summit,” she said in an interview with the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza on Tuesday. “The issues we raised - lifting the ban and a European solidarity mechanism which will guarantee us energy security, have not been sufficiently highlighted,” she added, repeating the call for a statement affirming the solidarity of member states on this matter.
