Adoption of proposal on restructuring scheme in sugar sector postponed until 7 May

Brussels, 02/05/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to delay until Monday 7 May the adoption of Agriculture Commissioner Mariann Fischer Boel's proposal, aiming to encourage business and professionals to reduce sugar production. The Commission was due to adopt this proposal on Wednesday 2 May, but it would appear that a Commissioner, whose nationality is French, asked for the adoption of the text to be suspended until 7 May because of claimed import problems into the...
