Javier Solana WANTS “change in Syria's attitude” - importance of lebanon's independence

Brussels, 13/03/2007 (Agence Europe) - The EU high representative for the CFSP, Javier Solana, whilst on a visit to Beirut on Monday, informed the local press that on his visit to Damascus on Wednesday, he would be seeking a “change in attitude” from Syria with regard to Lebanon. Mr Solana received a mandate from the recent European Council to go to Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Syria to help find a solution to the Lebanese crisis.
