EU condemns repression of demonstration in Zimbabwe and urges regime to resolve crisis

Brussels, 13/03/2007 (Agence Europe) - Speaking on behalf of the EU on Monday, the German presidency of the Council condemned the violent repression of a peaceful rally in Harare against President Robert Mugabe. One participant was killed, one was injured and many, including the opposition leaders Morgan Tsvangirai and Arthur Mutambara, were arrested during the demonstration that formed part of the “Save Zimbabwe Campaign”.
