06/03/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has begun a public consultation exercise - which will run until 2 April 2007 - on possible implementation measures for directive 2004/109/EC on harmonisation of transparency requirements with regard to the financial information published by stock exchange-listed companies. In its consultation document, the Commission raises the possibility of drawing up minimum rules for bodies responsible for the centralised storage of information regulated by the transparency directive, and also the creation of a European network bringing together these bodies.
