Reasoned opinion to Poland for urgent stop to motorway construction project threatening protected natural habitats

Brussels, 28/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to jump up a stage in the infringement procedure against Poland for failing to respect Community nature protection legislation. The Polish authorities will receive a reasoned opinion (the second stage in the procedure before referral to the Court of Justice pursuant to article 226 of the Treaty) for having authorised two bypass construction projects in the Rozpuda Valley and the Puszcza forest region - protected...
