Green light for entry of Lite-On into Philips & BenQ Digital Storage Corporation and acquisition of Philips by Philips & BenQ

Brussels, 19/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 16 February, the European Commission cleared the proposed entry by Lite-On, a Taiwan technology company, into Philips & BenQ Digital Storage Corporation (PBDS) of Taiwan. Lite-On is active in computers, communication products, consumer electronics and optical data storage disk drives for personal computers. PBDS is active in the development, design, marketing, and sale of optical data-storage disk drives for personal computers (“PC ODDs”)....
