Rabat, 06/12/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission delegation in Rabat is holding a seminar in Beni Mellal (Morocco) on 6 and 7 December on improvements to catchment areas. Two hundred participants will discuss this theme which holds the key to sustainable management of natural resources and rural development. The programme provides for the monitoring of projects financed under this policy, including what is considered the most significant European action in this sector in Morocco, the anti-erosion improvements in the Sidi Driss catchment area financed by an EU grant of 50 million dirhams (nearly €5 million) over 5 years, covering a total rural area of 1,260 km2.
