21/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - In a press release the European Central Bank (ECB) indicated that the 3rd High-Level Seminar of Central Banks in the East Asia-Pacific Region and the Euro Area had brought together representatives from these two areas. Eleven central banks and monetary authorities in the East Asia and Pacific region (Australia; People's Republic of China; Hong Kong, SAR; Indonesia; Japan; Korea; Malaysia; New Zealand; Philippines; Singapore and Thailand, as well as the twelve representatives from the Euro zone and the Frankfurt institution took part in this meeting jointly organised by the New Zealand central bank and the ECB. A key area of discussion was the link between the integration of emerging economies and overall inflation, international imbalances and their consequences to financial stability and regional financial integration.
