Go-ahead for aid for Air Caraïbes

Brussels, 26/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 24 October, the European Commission authorised two state aid measures for the airline Air Caraïbes with a view to promoting the development of regional air transport to the Antilles and between the Antilles and French Guiana. One of the aid measures will serve to charter a 100-seater Embraer 190 for use between Guadeloupe, Martinique and French Guiana. The other will enable a 70-seater ATR 72-500 to be chartered for use between Guadeloupe, Martinique and Saint-Martin. Air Caraïbes will be able to charter a new Embraer 190 and a new 70-seater ATR 72-500 at a reduced rate thanks to tax credits received by the lessors. (dt)
