Parliament firmly defends Life budget line, to be managed by Commission, in second reading

Strasbourg, 25/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament decided by an overwhelming majority, on 24 October in Strasbourg, to block the route for the Council's attempt to renationalise the financial instrument for the environment Life Plus, which is to be granted some 19 billion euros for the period 2007-2013. Voting in second reading on the proposed regulation for Life Plus, the plenary session followed the recommendations of its rapporteur Marie Anne Isler Béguin (Green, France)...
