17/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - Last week Belgium officially presented the candidacy of Brussels as the future seat of the Galileo Surveillance Authority, which will be in charge of managing the European radio-navigation satellite system. Brussels will be competing with other European cities such as Athens, Barcelona, Strasbourg, Rome, Noordwijk, Cardiff and Ljubljana. These EU Member States will in principle be making the final decision on the question by the end of the year. (dt)
