17/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 16 October, without debate, the Council adopted a joint action amending and extending Joint Action 2005/190/CFSP on the EU rule of law mission in Iraq, EUJUST LEX. The new joint action extends the mission's mandate until 31 December 2007, as decided by Council on 12 June, and provides for an allocation of €11.3 million to cover the additional cost of the mission entailed by its extension.
