Brussels, 05/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Commission will, next week, send reasoned opinions to several Member States for failure to submit (or not fully submitting) their national measures for transposing European directives 2004/17/EC and 2004/18/EC on public procurement tendering procedures. Involved are Germany, Belgium, Greece, Luxemburg, Portugal and Slovakia. France, which has received a formal notice, avoids this second warning. Directives 2004/18/CE (standard public procurement) and 2004/17/EC (special sectors) have been in force since the end of January 2006.
Still on public procurement, the Commission is expected to close infringement proceedings against the United Kingdom.
