Member States appear to have halted epizooty but remain vigilant - embargo on Romania adapted

Brussels, 06/09/2006 (Agence Europe) - EU experts from member states meeting on 5 September at the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health confirmed that for the moment they had contained and eradicated the avian flu disease which broke out a year ago in Europe affecting up to 14 countries: Greece, Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, Germany, France, Slovakia, Sweden, Poland, Denmark, Czech Republic, United Kingdom and Spain.
