Mr Almunia takes position in favour of renewing Jean-Claude Juncker's mandate as head of Eurogroup

Brussels, 06/09/2006 (Agence Europe) - "Jean-Claude Juncker has been and is now a very good President of the Eurogroup. If it was my decision, it would not take me five minutes to state my opinion: I would like him to be re-elected", Commissioner Almunia told the press on Wednesday (our translation), when asked about the chances that the Finance Minister and Prime Minister of Luxembourg would continue with his duties as President of the Eurogroup.
