Commission enters into dialogue with media to improve information on health issues, in particular in event of avian flu outbreak

Brussels, 07/07/2006 (Agence Europe) - During a press meeting on Friday 7 July, Robert Madelin (DG SANCO) and Claus Haugaard Soerensen (DG Communication) stressed the importance of keeping the public informed in the event of a natural disaster or a major health crisis such as an outbreak of the human flu pandemic.
