Brussels, 06/07/2006 (Agence Europe) - Since 1 July, the date of the entry into force of Directive 2002/95/EC on the limited use of certain hazardous chemicals in electric and electronic equipment, new equipment has been put on the market in the EU that should not contain led, cadmium, chrome hexavalent, polybromobiphenyl (PBB) polybromobiphenyl ethers (PBDE). The use of PVC is not covered by this ban (contrary to what was written in the bulletin 9223 of 1 July).
