02/06/2006 (Agence Europe) - During a press conference devoted to mental health, the British Foundation “Rethink” and the European Federation of Associations of Families of People with Mental Illness (EUFAMI) presented the results of a survey conducted across the European Union, showing that 64% of respondents have suffered discrimination due to mental ill health, that it is still too often difficult to know where to seek help (50% of cases) and that 98% of respondents consider the public authorities do not pay sufficient attention to mental ill health problems. On this occasion, British Conservative John Bowis again called for a true European strategy to be developed as well as public health policies that are better adapted to the needs of patients.
