European Parliament supports new “Transatlantic Partnership Agreement” in 2007 and creation of barrier-free transatlantic market by 2015

Brussels, 01/06/2006 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the European Parliament adopted the reports by Elmar Brok (EPP-ED), on Improving EU-US Relations in the Framework of a Transatlantic Partnership Agreement, and Erika Mann (PES) on EU-US Transatlantic Economic Relations (470 votes to 121, with 26 abstentions). Thus, the EP has come out in favour of an “up-dating” of the transatlantic partnership by replacing the current New Transatlantic Agenda with a Transatlantic Partnership Agreement...
