Parliament ratifies Energy Community Treaty but stipulates it must have social dimension

Strasbourg, 23/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption of the report by Conservative Giles Chichester on 18 May, the European Parliament ratified the Energy Community Treaty (ECT). In addition to the European Union, nine South East European states - Romania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Albania - as well as the UN Interim Administration in Kosovo, signed up to the Treaty on 25 October 2005, in Athens (EUROPE...
