Council divided on labelling of organic products

Brussels, 23/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - EU Agriculture Ministers held a first political debate on 22 May on the two proposals to improve the rules for the production and labelling of organic products. Divisions appeared in their ranks on the main issues raised, such as the threshold for the contamination of organic products with GMOs or the use of a compulsory Community logo.
