Brussels, 05/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Berlaymont will open its doors to the public on 6 May as a “curtain-raiser” to Europe Day celebrations on 9 May. This year, Plan D “Democracy - Dialogue - Debate” will form the umbrella for celebrations, which will vary from one Member State to another, although there will be a general trend. The accent will be very much on local action with events and activities organised by local and regional authorities. On the same day, the new EU domain name “.eu” will come into effect, meaning that the Internet addresses of all the European institutions will have the suffix “.eu” from 9 May.
