Brussels, 05/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - In Salzburg (Austria) on 5 May, the European Union and the transport ministers of Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Iceland, Norway and the United Nations mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) signed an agreement on airspace with the aim of establishing a common European airspace by incorporating the above countries in the EU aviation single market. This will require them to adopt all EU legislation on aviation and transpose it into their domestic legal systems (see EUROPE 9142). The airspace agreement will be signed officially at the Transport Council in Luxembourg on 8 June.
