05/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 4 May, the Commission organised a public hearing with a view to defining the future priorities for the action plan on modernising corporate law and strengthening corporate governance within the EU. During this meeting, four workshops were set up to discuss the following themes: shareholders' rights and obligations, modernisation and simplification of European corporate law, management liability and internal control, mobility and the restructuring of companies. The hearing comes after a specific public hearing opened until end March at which there were nearly 300 contributions (see EUROPE 9095).
