Concerned at opposition of certain Member States, ETUF: TCL pleads in favour of indication of origin for certain products in Europe

Brussels, 26/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - Lending its support to the Commission's proposal on an indication of country of origin for certain categories of imported products from third countries, the European Trade Union Federation for Textiles, Clothing and Leather (ETUF: TCL) intends to create a new framework for the debate on a text which "does not enjoy unanimity within the Council", its Secretary General, Patrick Itschert, told a press conference on Wednesday.
