Brussels, 07/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - The development ministers of the EU will meet on Monday evening (dinner) and on Tuesday in Luxembourg for a Council on, amongst other things, the following topics:
EU/ACP Partnership. The Council will debate the 10th European Development Fund (EDF).
Efficiency of Community aid. The Council will adopt conclusions taking stock of how the EU and the other donors could improve the efficiency of their development aid.
Humanitarian aid. On the basis of a Presidency questionnaire, the Council will assess the EU's system of humanitarian assistance and possibly draw consequences for the future.
Migration and development. The Commission will inform the ministers of its intention to present a communication on this subject in the course of this year.
Energy and development. The ministers will be informed of the results of a seminar on this subject and will also agree on certain principles concerning the role of energy in development.
AOB. The Council will adopt conclusions on the EU's strategy towards the countries of the Caribbean, on the economic partnership agreements (EPAs) and the UN world Summit follow-up.
