10/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - French Independence and Democracy MEP Patrick Louis has written to the President of France, the French government and parliament calling on them to end 'government by European judges'. The separatist MEP argues that the French government should back reforms whereby in the event of conflict between the institutions on how the European treaties are interpreted, the Council's interpretation should always prevail. Louis calls for a review of the role and the situation of the European Court of Justice in the European institutional system, along with a review of the role of the European Commission.
