10/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - Three MEPs (British Conservative Charles Tannock, British Labour MEP Gary Titley and Forza Italia MEP Jas Gavronski, whose family hails from Poland) have written to the new Polish government and President to call on them to give dispossessed Poles back their land, confiscated from Polish émigrés by the country's former communist regime after World War Two. In a press release, Dr Tannock said 'the land grab had not been confined to the nobility, but had affected people at all levels of Polish society'. 'Dr Tannock added: 'Thousands of Poles escaped the communist regime, came to Britain and made a life for themselves and their families. Most of them are model citizens.'
