Brussels, 10/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - The new President of Portugal, Anibal Cavaco Silva, came to office on 9 March, and has chosen some very 'European' figureheads for his close 'civic house' team. The head of the civic house is Jose Liberato, former media director and spokesperson for the European Parliament. The science and environment advisor is former MEP Jorge Moreira da Silva. The Portuguese communities advisor is Jose Luis Fernandes, former press attaché for the Portuguese members of the EPP-ED at the European Parliament. The European affairs advisor is former European minister Victor Martins. The diplomatic advisor is Fezas Vital, former second in command at Portugal's Permanent Representation to the EU, and the farm advisor is former minister and former European Commission Director Sevinate Pinto.
