06/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Academy of Law (ERA) in Trier is organising in Brussels on 9 March a conference on the Commission's Green Paper concerning private claims for damages and interest in the event of breaches of agreement or abuse of dominant position. In its paper presented for consultation until 21 April 2006, the Commission has identified several obstacles to appeals by companies and consumers (EUROPE 9095). The Commissioner on this issue, Neelie Kroes, Director General Philip Lowe and John Cook, Judge at the Court of First Instance, and Carl Baudenbacher, President of the European Economic Area (EEA) Court, will take part in the debate.
