06/03/2006 (Agence Europe) Etienne Davignon's think tank, Friends of Europe, will be holding a debate on “Meeting Europe's Road Safety Challenge” at the Solvay Library in Brussels. Participants include: Paolo Costa (ALDE, Italy), president of the European Parliament Transport Committee, Zoltan Kazatsay, Deputy Director General for Energy and Transport at the European Parliament and Lars-Göran Löwenadler, Head of Safety at Volvo Trucks (EUROPE 9144 on discussions between EU ministers of Transports on road safety during their informal meeting in Bregenz). On 8 March, Friends of Europe is also organising a debate at its premises at the Solvay Library, on the controversial services directive, using the theme of “Who's Afraid of the Polish Plumber?” (EUROPE 9133 on the vote of the European Parliament's first reading).
