According to Eurostat, women in EU25 live on average six years longer than men and work more hours per day - More women (9.6%) than men (7.6%) unemployed in January 2006

Brussels, 06/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 8 March, International Women's Day, the statistical office of the EC (Eurostat) published several tables of statistics on the situation of women in the EU, shedding light on the differences and similarities with the situation of men. The main findings are that in the EU of 25:
