UN and Commission launch appeal for humanitarian action in 2006 for Congo ($681 million)

Brussels, 13/02/2006 (Agence Europe) - The go-ahead for the 2006 humanitarian action plan for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) was given on Monday in Brussels during a ministerial conference organised by the UN and the European Commission hosted by the Belgian government (EUROPE 9129). Around $681 million (EUR 561 million) has been judged necessary for covering the urgent emergency needs of the 60 million Congolese people. This is the appeal launched by the UN for funding...
