13/02/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 8-31 March the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and the Committee of the Regions (CoR) are organising an exhibition on Bertha von Suttner, the first woman to have won the Nobel Peace Prize and whose 100th anniversary is being celebrated. The opening is planned for 8 March, International Women's Day, indicated a joint press release. On this occasion, the Montoyer building in Brussels, will officially be renamed the “Bertha von Suttner building (the building's original name). This event is part of the Austrian presidency of the Council of the EU's project and will be attended by European Commissioner for External Relations Benita Ferrero-Waldner, Austria's Ambassador to Belgium, Franz Cede and Brigitte Hamann, historian and biographer of Bertha von Suttner.
