Brussels, 13/02/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 13 February, the Commission authorised plans to buy the Turkish company Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari T.A.S ("Erdemir") by the Luxembourg company Arcelor AS ("Arcelor") and the Turkish fund Ordu Yardimlasma Kurumu ("Oyak"), according to a press release which points out that Erdemir is the largest Turkish steel producer and Oyak is the pension fund of the Turkish armed forces.
