07/02/2006 (Agence Europe) - French Green MEP Hélène Flautre has invited Driss Benzikri, President of Morocco's Equity and Reconciliation Commission (ERC) to an extraordinary meeting of the “human rights” sub-committee of the European Parliament which she chairs, in order to present the conclusions of the report on the truth and reconciliation process. “The process begun by Morocco to examine human rights violations committed in the past is the first of its kind in the Arab world,” said Mrs Flautre in a press release, pointing out that it was a process, and that the EU should help Rabat to implement the recommendations of the report through its neighbourhood policy.
