03/02/2006 (Agence Europe) - In an address to the standing council of the OSCE in Vienna on 2 February, the President of the Council of the EU, Austrian foreign minister Ursula Plassnik, called for greater cooperation between the 55 member states of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the 25 EU Member States (also members of the OSCE). She said the two organisations share the same values and could achieve better result by working more closely together in areas like counter-terrorism, organised crime, combatting human trafficking, resolving protracted conflicts and reducing the availability of small and light weapons.
