03/02/2006 (Agence Europe) - In a press release published on 31 January, German Christian Democrat Peter Liese criticises the European Commission and the Council of Ministers for failing to present any proposal or take any measures concerning organs destined for transplant and the ban on their sales (departing from the model of rules concerning blood, tissue and cells, the European Parliament hoped to see a text adopted at European level). The MEP also highlights inadequacies in the German health care system in the field of transplantation and calls upon the authorities of his country to draw inspiration from the models developed by the other Member States of the EU. He refers to the example of Spain.
