03/02/2006 (Agence Europe) -Finland is determined to find a solution to the problem of the European Constitution during its Presidency of the Council of the EU, in the second half of this year, the Finnish President, Tarja Halonen, announced on Friday. "The debate on the Constitutional Treaty will be at the centre of the Finnish Presidency of the Council of the European Union (...). Finland will do all in its power to reach a consensus within the EU and, to this end, we will work closely with Austria, which is currently carrying out the Presidency", said Ms Halonen at the opening of the 2006 session of the Eudskunta, the Finnish Parliament. "It would be in the interest of the EU in general, and the Finland in particular, for the Constitutional Treaty to enter into force", she added.
