03/02/2006 (Agence Europe) - In Brussels on 31 January, the European Parliament rapporteur on the 7th Framework Programme for R&D (FP7), Jerzy Buzek (EPP, Poland), submitted a petition to the President of the European Council, Wolfgang Schussel, signed by 50 political, scientific and industrial figureheads, who feel the budget being considered by the Council for FP7 in the upcoming Financial Perspectives is far from sufficient. The signatories include various city mayors, rectors of Polish and Italian universities and Katharina Krell (EUREC), Hans-Jorg Bullinger (Fraunhofer Gesellschaft) and Benoit Legait (Ecole des Mines in France).
