03/02/2006 (Agence Europe) - Inflation in eurozone countries rose to 2.4% in January, following 2.2% in December, according to the flash estimate published by Eurostat on 3 February. On 28 February, Eurostat will provide fuller information on inflation in the first months of 2006 (see EUROPE 9123 for statement by ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet on this subject).
