Serguey Stanishev meets Chancellor Schussel and Heinz Fischer in Vienna - Franco Frattini to visit Bulgaria in January

Brussels, 30/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - Bulgaria's prime minister Sergey Stanishev met Austria's Chancellor Wolfgang Schussel in Vienna on Thursday ahead of the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the EU, which starts on 1 January 2006. Stanishev assured Schussel the country would be ready to join the European Union as planned on 1 January 2007.
