30/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - Belgian national Serge Brammertz, deputy prosecutor at the International Criminal Court in The Hague since 2003, will shortly be appointed head of the international investigation into the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri, taking over from German judge Detlev Mehlis, who has been heading the investigations since June this year. The United Nations investigation committee's mandate has been extended until July 2006.
